About the Reporter
Nielsen Ferry is currently a one-man-band reporter for Insight News at the University of Memphis and an intern at WREG-TV News Channel 3, reporting and shooting a variety of topics from sports to human interest, politics to features.
He began working in the sports department of the University's WUMR radio during sophomore year. Now the Sports Director, he also does play-by-play and color commentary for U of M sporting events as well as host the morning show. In the summer of 2010 Nielsen began interning in the sports department at Channel 3. While at WREG he has covered prep football, Grizzlies basketball, Memphis and Ole Miss football, he has also field produced several events including the 2010 senate race.
On May 8, 2011, Nielsen will graduate with a B.F.A. in Broadcast Journalism.
